Houston Eye Associates is excited to welcome Sandip Suresh, M.D. to our outstanding group of physicians. He is now seeing patients at our Gramercy, League City, and Houston Northwest (1960) locations.
Dr. Suresh is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology and uveitis and trained in cataract and glaucoma surgery. Recently, Dr. Suresh has worked with anterior and posterior segment pathology.
Growing up, Dr. Suresh was always drawn to the sciences and discovering how things worked. He has many relatives in medicine, so the idea of being a doctor was never a stretch for him. His love for medicine and eventually ophthalmology only grew throughout medical school at the University of Minnesota and residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute. Dr. Suresh's passion for ophthalmology blossomed as he saw how patient care affected individuals' lives. "It's amazing how the smallest improvements can have the greatest effect on people's functionality," Dr. Suresh said about his love for ophthalmology, "We get to solve unique problems using cutting edge technology that doesn't appear in other parts of medicine."
Dr. Suresh values the time and trust that his patients invest in him and aims to include them in his medical process. "Patients take time out of their day to come to see me with their family members." He makes the diagnosis process a team effort to analyze the problem and create a solution together.
Dr. Suresh says that his parents have had the most significant impact on his life, "They sacrificed a lot to give me and my sibling's countless opportunities."
When he's not in the office, Dr. Suresh enjoys tending to his indoor gardening collection, playing ultimate frisbee, or watching basketball. Dr. Suresh also loves to travel; he recently ventured to Olympic National Park for a post-training celebration.
