Houston Eye Associates is pleased to welcome Kristin Minkowski, M.D. to our outstanding group of physicians. Dr. Minkowski is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist and cataract surgeon specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, cataract surgery, and comprehensive ophthalmology.
She was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin, and attended Carthage College, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. Dr. Minkowski earned Master of Science degrees in Biomedical Science and Health Administration from Rosalind Franklin University. She attended medical school at Chicago Medical School, graduating first in her class of 198 students.
After medical school, Dr. Minkowski completed a one-year internship at the University of Chicago before moving to Houston, Texas, to attend residency at the Cullen Eye Institute at Baylor College of Medicine. Following residency, Dr. Minkowski completed a glaucoma fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, the top-rated ophthalmology program in the United States.
Dr. Minkowski has received numerous awards and honors, including induction into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society. She is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Minkowski strongly believes in personalized medicine and tailors treatment plans to her patients’ individual needs. In addition to controlling glaucoma with medication, Dr. Minkowski offers patients laser surgical options, minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries, trabeculectomy, and tube drainage device implants.
Dr. Minkowski enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, and playing tennis, which she played collegiately.
Dr. Minkowski is now seeing patients at our Spring Branch, North Loop, Northwest Houston, and The Woodlands locations.
