About Adeel H. Shaikh, M.D.
Dr. Adeel Shaikh is a vitreoretinal surgeon who received his medical degree from the Aga Khan University. After a year of internal medicine at the Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, he completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati and served as Chief Resident in his final year. He received his retina sub-specialty training at the Cincinnati Eye Institute / University Hospital of Cincinnati.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists. He is also a member of local medical societies, including the Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society. He has numerous publications and has presented his research at meetings both nationally and internationally on topics including the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, and vitreoretinal surgery. He is actively involved in clinical and scientific research and has presented at many national and international meetings.
Dr. Shaikh is a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He specializes in all medical and surgical retinal diseases including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vascular diseases of the retina, vitreoretinal interface abnormalities such as epiretinal membrane and macular hole, retinal detachment, ocular trauma, and complications of anterior segment surgery.
Dr. Shaikh is married and has two children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and playing soccer. He looks forward to meeting you and your family at our Gramercy, North Loop, and Spring-Klein locations.
