About Lindsey D. Harris, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.R.S.
Dr. Lindsey D. Harris grew up in Beaumont, Texas. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 1996 and from the University of Texas Health Sciences Medical School in 2000. She received many awards during both her undergraduate and medical school years, including membership in Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine, where she served as Chief Resident and received the Stephen B. Schindler Award for high ethical and humane standards and the Everett L. Goar Award for best research. Afterwards, she completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at Emory University. Dr. Harris has numerous publications and has presented her research at meetings nationally and internationally. She is the Primary Investigator for the Retina Research Department at Houston Eye Associates for clinical research trials. Dr. Harris has been recognized as the Houston Eye Associates Foundation "Physician of the Year" for multiple years.
Dr. Harris is Vice Chair of the Board of Governors of the Texas Medical Liability Trust and has served as President of the Texas Ophthalmological Association. She is a delegate for the Harris County Medical Society to the Texas Medical Association. She has served on the Board of Trustees of the Houston Eye Associates Foundation, the Executive Committee of the Christus Foundation for Healthcare, the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Houston, and the Board of the Pi Beta Phi Houston Alumnae Club. She serves on the Advisory Board of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese Galveston-Houston.
Dr. Harris is thankful every day to live in Houston and to help the community with her skills. She is particularly grateful to her family and her medical team who help make this possible.
