Dr. Milete Klinkerman grew up in O’Donnell, Texas, a small farming community in west Texas. She graduated summa cum laude from Texas Tech University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition. She worked as a dietician for 3 years before pursuing her optometry degree. In 1997, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry where she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, received the Letter of Excellence in Primary Care Optometry, and the Bausch & Lomb Award for Excellence in Contact Lens Induced Pathology. During her externship rotations at Hermann Eye Center and Mann & Berkeley Eye Center, she specialized in anterior segment pathology and the co-management of refractive and cataract surgery.
After graduating from the University of Houston College of Optometry, Dr. Klinkerman worked at an ophthalmology clinic in Sugar Land for 3 years and then opened and operated her own private practice in Pearland for 17 years before joining Houston Eye Associates in 2018. She is proudly licensed by the Texas Board of Optometry as a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. Her focus is primary care optometry which includes the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases such as diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and dry eye disease. She also provides contact lens exams and specialty contact lens fittings for astigmatism, bifocal, and multifocal contact lenses. She enjoys working alongside her colleagues providing pre- and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery patients. She prides herself on taking the time to listen to her patients, getting to know them on a more personal level, and providing a very thorough, comprehensive eye exam.
Dr. Klinkerman has been married for 32 years and has thoroughly enjoyed raising her 2 daughters.
Dr. Klinkerman sees patients at our League City office and is excited to be back at our Pearland location. She is eager to see familiar faces and reconnect with former patients as well as meet new patients as we continue to grow.
