Dr. Sandip Suresh is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology with a focus on uveitis. Dr. Suresh is well equipped in handling complicated anterior and posterior segment pathology as well as both antimetabolite and biologic immunosuppression, along with local periocular steroid and anti-VEGF injections. Through extensive residency and fellowship training, Dr. Suresh is also trained to perform both routine and complicated uveitis cataract surgeries, as well as glaucoma surgery.
Dr. Suresh completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry as well as Neurobiology. Upon graduation from undergraduate, he went on to complete medical school at the University of Minnesota, where he excelled as an honor roll student as well as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. Dr. Suresh also was the recipient of three highly noted scholarships, the University of Minnesota Merit Scholar, Variety Endowed Scholar, and the Community Health Initiative Scholar.
Once completed with medical school, Dr. Suresh completed a yearlong internship at UCLA’s Harbor Medical Center. After completing this internship, Dr. Suresh then finalized his Ophthalmology Residency at UCLA’s- Jules Stein Eye Institute. While at UCLA completing his internship, Dr. Suresh devoted his time to the Pre-Med AMSA Mentorship Program. He provided guidance and advice for undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in medicine. During residency, Dr. Suresh was a volunteer for the UCLA Mobile eye clinic, where he dedicated time to providing free eye examinations, refractions, and counseling to underserved Los Angeles communities.
Dr. Suresh spent the last year in Portland, Oregon, at OHSU- Casey Eye Institute, where he has been focused on uveitis and the complicated anterior and posterior segment pathology.
Dr. Suresh is excited to be back in Houston as most of his family lives in the area.
